New publisher partnerships support AI-driven discovery while preserving content control, attribution, and value

Glen Allen, VA —October 1, 2026—KnowledgeWorks Global Ltd. (KGL) today announced that three publishers on its KGL PubFactory hosting solution, Human Kinetics, the American Meteorological Society (AMS), and the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), have licensed their premium content through the KGL AI Gateway. The agreements will support the publishers in extending the reach of their content into approved AI environments while retaining control over how it is accessed and used.

Powered by Cashmere’s license-aware infrastructure, KGL AI Gateway connects publisher content to approved AI applications through a centralized, governed distribution framework. The solution combines rights management, attribution, usage reporting, and flexible commercial models, helping publishers pursue new discovery and revenue opportunities. Its retrieval-based approach is designed to prevent content from being used in foundation-model training unless expressly authorized by the publisher.

“Publishers should not have to choose between participating in AI-driven discovery and protecting the value of their content,” said José Fossi, Vice President of Hosting Operations, KGL PubFactory. “We are delighted to welcome longtime partners Human Kinetics, AMS, and ASHS to KGL AI Gateway. Each brings a distinctive publishing mission and a highly engaged community. Our goal is to help them reach those communities in new ways, with the control, visibility, and flexibility to shape their own approach to AI.”

Hk Esop Logo 600pxHuman Kinetics publishes authoritative information on physical activity and sport, serving researchers, educators, coaches, and health and fitness professionals worldwide.

“Our goal is to make trusted knowledge in sport, exercise, and physical activity easier to find and apply,” said Skip Maier, CEO of Human Kinetics. “KGL AI Gateway offers a way to connect our journal content with researchers, educators, coaches, and health and fitness professionals through AI-assisted discovery. It is an opportunity to introduce our authors’ expertise to new audiences and help more people put that knowledge into practice.”

Amslogofull WebAMS publishes peer-reviewed research across the atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences, providing scientific information for the weather, water, and climate community.

“In weather, water, and climate science, knowing where information comes from is essential,” said Brian Papa, Associate Executive Director of the American Meteorological Society. “Our priority is to ensure that our authors’ work is used on clearly defined terms and remains connected to its original source. KGL AI Gateway’s focus on rights management and attribution provides a framework for engaging with AI applications while respecting permissions and preserving recognition for the research behind the answers.”

American SocietyASHS publishes fundamental, applied, and practical horticultural research through its three peer-reviewed journals, supporting both scientific discovery and the application of knowledge.

“Open access is fundamentally about removing barriers to knowledge, but the ways researchers and professionals access and engage with information continue to evolve,” said Tracy Shawn, CEO of the American Society for Horticultural Science. “Participating in the KGL AI Gateway enables ASHS to explore new ways our authoritative content can support emerging AI-enabled research and professional workflows. By creating innovative pathways to trusted horticultural information, we can help advance scientific discovery, inform decision-making, and strengthen the impact of research across the field.”

KGL AI Gateway helps publishers expand the reach and value of their content through AI-driven discovery and distribution while maintaining control over access, usage, and attribution. Publishers can learn more at Frankfurter Buchmesse, October 7–11, 2026, Stand G100 in Hall 4.1 .
