The Hague, Netherlands—May 20, 2025—After three years of strategic planning and collaborative effort, the Government of India has officially launched the One Nation, One Subscription (ONOS) initiative—an ambitious program designed to expand access to academic and scientific knowledge across the country. By centralizing and funding subscriptions to major academic publishers at the national level, ONOS ensures that researchers, students, and institutions can access a vast repository of high-quality scholarly content without individual licensing barriers. We’re proud to share that five of our clients are key participants in this transformative initiative, reflecting their commitment to open knowledge and research equity.
This is a joint press release from KGL Accucoms and the five publishers we represent who are part of ONOS – American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, American Physical Society, Annual Reviews, American Society for Microbiology and SPIE Digital Library
“Representing five esteemed scholarly society publishers—Annual Reviews, APS, AIAA, ASM, and SPIE—in the landmark One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative is both a privilege and a clear reflection of what strategic, sustained collaboration can accomplish. This milestone agreement, three years in the making, was made possible through the dedicated efforts of KGL Accucoms, whose deep understanding of the Indian research ecosystem and commitment to equitable access played a part in its realization. Through ONOS, these publishers are advancing national research priorities and reaffirming the global significance of society-led publishing. Building on this momentum, KGL Accucoms remains focused on expanding access by working to bring content from its non-ONOS partner publishers to ONOS institutions and private academic communities across India—with the broader goal of integrating them into the ONOS framework in the future.” —Rakesh Malik, Commercial Director APAC, KGL Accucoms
“AIAA is honored to be included amongst the inaugural group of publishers selected to participate in the ONOS (One Nation One Subscription) Consortium. This will provide access to AIAA Journals content to a wide array of governmental and publicly funded institutions across India. We believe this speaks both to the quality of AIAA’s content, and to the strong demand for scholarly and technical information in one of the world’s most important economies. We’re grateful to the team at KGL Accucoms, whose guidance and expertise at every step of the process was integral to our success.” —David Arthur, Director of Publications, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
“The American Physical Society (APS) is incredibly proud to be among the first publishers to support the ONOS initiative via our agency partner, KGL Accucoms. The expansion of access to critical research across India is aligned with our mission to Advance Physics and represents a major, National achievement.” —Dylan Moulton, Global Sales Director, American Physical Society
Non-profit organization Annual Reviews, a global leader in scientific review publishing, is pleased to announce an agreement with the landmark One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) program in India. This collaboration represents three years of strategic planning to bring all 51 Annual Reviews (2025-2027 volumes) to every centrally funded institution in India. “We are delighted to confirm the ONOS agreement which increases journal access to this prestigious research community. We are happy to find a national consortium that is aligned with the mission of Annual Reviews and further supports open access. We would also like to thank our partners at KGL Accucoms for their representation during this process.” —Richard Gallagher, President, and Editor-In-Chief of Annual Reviews
